Frequently Asked Questions

The 2010 graduate internship application process is now closed and will re-open for the 2011 programme on the 1st February 2011. The internal high flyer application process remains open until the 30th June.

Q1. When does the Application Process open and close?
The application process is open from the 1st February 2011 all completed application forms MUST be received by 5pm on the 1st May 2011, all online tests must be completed by 5pm on the 13th May 2011.

Q2. What are the Working Hours?
Although hours will vary according to the nature of the charity business we anticipate normal office hours 9-5pm with reasonable flexibility.

Q3. Is this a paid internship?
Yes, for the 2010-2011 programme the salary level is £15,000 per annum.

Q4. What will the holiday entitlement be?
We are offering 28 days which includes bank holidays. Annual Leave will be spread evenly over the placements.

Q5. Do you have to graduate this year to apply?
No, as long as you have a 2:1 the year does not matter.

Q6. Do you have to have experience working/volunteering within the charity/non profit sector?
Yes, we are asking applicants to have some form of experience within the charity/not for profit sector.

Q7. Where will I be based?
The Charities currently engaged with the programme are based in London, Sussex and Oxfordshire. We can offer reasonable support with travel costs outside London.

Q8. Will I have a guaranteed job at the end of the programme?
No - we are hoping the programme will produce a rich talent pool of people who will secure jobs in the UK charity sector following completion of the programme. We hope that successful graduates will apply for jobs within one of our sponsor charities at the end of the programme.

Q9. What is the application process?
Once we have received your completed application form we ask you to take two psychometric tests. We ask that you complete them one at a time, if you do not reach the target score in the first test you will not be asked to complete the second.

If you are successful during the testing stage and reach our target score you will be placed on our shortlist. Shortlisting takes place during the last week of May and you will be informed by the 27th May if you have been successful during this stage.

Successful candidates will be asked to attend one of our Assessment centres during the first two weeks of June.

Q10. When is the start date?
The programme commences on the 1st September.

Q11. Where do I Apply?
We only accept applications via our online application system when the application process is open, once the application has been completed and received you will be invited to complete our online psychometric tests. We do not accept CV’s.
